The City of El Mirage will again offer curbside bulk trash pickup to the residents of El Mirage who receive City-provided solid waste services. Residents will have the opportunity to place their items curbside for collection and disposal. This service helps enhance the community and provide an easy and convenient way for residents to dispose of items generated from their homes, particularly items too large to dispose of in a regular trash container. The Fall 2016 bulk collection event starts Monday, October 24th. Details on the dates of collection of each section are provided below.
The City is divided into two sections and will be collected according to the schedule below. Make sure to have all items out for collection by 5:30 am on the date listed below.
Section 1 (east of El Mirage Rd.): Monday, October 24th
Section 2 (west of El Mirage Rd.): Monday, November 7th
Please read the information below to review the collection guidelines. Residents who are not in compliance with these regulations will not be included in the free collection and may be required to pay additional charges to dispose of non-compliant material.
Items listed as unacceptable will not be collected and will be required to be removed within 2 days following the pick-up week as scheduled for the neighborhood. If you have either missed the collection or not serviced due to non-compliance, contact Customer Service to arrange for a special collection at an extra charge.
Place items neatly stacked/bagged on the edge of your property or sidewalk.
IMPORTANT: Do not place items on the street, alley, or near water meters, utility boxes, mail boxes, fences, or existing landscaping.
The equipment utilized in the collection may leave behind small material, debris, and leaves. Please sweep or rake after collection, if necessary.
Appliances: Stoves, washers, dryers, water heaters, microwaves, televisions. Appliances that use refrigerants (such as freezers, refrigerators, air conditioners) are considered hazardous and will not be accepted in collection.
Yard Waste: Tree limbs (must be no more than 4 feet in length and 12 inches in diameter), cacti (must be in sturdy boxes), yard clippings/grass/leaves. Yard waste must be bagged or boxed (contained in some way).
Wood: Fences (must be no more than 4 feet in length)
Hazardous Waste: Motor oil, paint, paint thinner, cleaners, gasoline, batteries, liquids, appliances containing refrigerants (such as freezers, refrigerators, air conditioners).
